"Intel® and Far Cry® 2 Mapping Contest 2009"
Terms and Conditions
1. Intel Corporation SAS, a simplified company with shares with capital of EUR 4,572,000, registered with the Register of Trade and Companies of Nanterre under number 302 456 199, having its registered office at 2 rue de Paris, 92196 Meudon Cedex, France, organizes the Web only Game, “Intel® and Far Cry® 2 Mapping Contest 2009” (the “Competition”), from 16th March 2009 to 25th May 2009. The game is available on the following website: http://infarcry.com/mapping-competition.
Geographic focused Area: France/ UK/ Germany/ Belgium/ Spain/ USA/ Canada/ Australia/ New Zealand
2. Entry to the Competition implies acceptance of the following Terms and Conditions by each entrant:
Competition is open, free of charge and without condition of purchase, to any natural person to the exception of employees of Intel Corporation SAS (FR), its subsidiaries and branches and the families of such employees, and, in general, employees of companies involved in the administration of the game.
Competition will take place from 16th March 2009 11:00 a.m. GMT to 25th May 2009 05:00 p.m. GMT.
who do not participate within the abovementioned dates will be excluded for legal purposes. Levels and maps of such entrants will not be accepted after the pre-set deadlines.
Entrants must comply with all the rules set out to this Competition so as to qualify and be in a position to win the offered prizes.
Entrants must be aged 16 years or over or must obtain the consent of their parents or legal guardian.
Participation of the employees of any companies or groups associated with the administration of the game, i.e. Intel, Ubisoft, ESL, Far cry community (www.infarcry.com), and their families is not authorized.
All national and local laws apply.
3. Entrants must avail themselves to the game Far Cry 2 in order to participate in the Competition.
Entrants shall install Far Cry 2 and the default map editor as included with Far Cry 2 in order to create their own maps.
Entrants shall not use any other map editor than the default map editor as provided with Far Cry 2.
4. If needed, Intel Corporation SAS and Ubisoft as associated in the website http://infarcry.com/mapping-competition may require entrants to justify their identities in order to check the accuracy of the personal data they provided.
Intel Corporation SAS and Ubisoft, as associated in the website http://infarcry.com/mapping-competition, reserve the right to exclude from the Competition any person who would use a computer from which the Terms and Conditions thereof would not have been fully respected.
No compensation will be granted for Internet service provider costs incurred during or after the Competition. Entrants shall not receive any direct help whatsoever from any company involved in the administration of the Competition for developing the maps as required for their participation.
5. Stages of the Contest
Intel®-Far Cry® 2 Mapping Contest – CALENDAR

1st Stage – Level Creation Step for Participants
Contest starts on 16.03.2009
The announcement for the contest will be posted on the Intel Game On website, the FC2 official website and the InFarCry community website at the same time.
Participants will have 4 weeks to create their own maps and summit their creations through a dedicated website: http://infarcry.com/mapping-competition.
They will have to follow the submission rules
Deadline: map submission will close on 26.04.2009
2nd Stage – InFarCry community test and vote to select the 12 best Maps
1st round selection starts on 27/04/2009
The maps will be judged based on four criteria: originality, Intel logo visibility, performance, fun and game play)
The maps will be available to test on Ubisoft’s and the Far Cry 2 (FC2) Community’s servers.
The InFarCry Community will vote to select the best 12 maps.
The selected 12 maps will be available for download on the Intel Game On website and http://infarcry.com/mapping-competition
Deadline to test the 12 Maps is 10/05/2009
3rd Stage – Jury votes for best 3 maps out of the 12 selected by the FC2 Communities
2nd round selection starts on 11/05/2009
Only 3 finalists will be selected from the initial selection of 12 maps.
The 3 finalists will get the biggest prizes committed for the contest.
The announcement of the 3 finalists will be posted on the Intel Game On website, the FC2 official website, and http://infarcry.com/mapping-competition at the same time.
Time for announcement is 25/05/2009
6. Rules of the Contest
Important Note: participants will have to accept the following before entering into the competition.
General Rules :
The Intel® Core™ i7 logo as per the “Intel desktop” item (PC or Intel PC components) needs to be placed properly and clearly visible somewhere in the map.
The Intel® Core™ i7 logo must not be edited or modified in terms of overall look, colour scheme and aspect ratio.
The use of Intel® Core™ i7 logo is strictly limited to the “Intel Far Cry 2 Mapping Contest,” and the desktop item can’t be edited and/or modified by participants.
Any improper use of the Intel® Core™ i7 logo will result in the participant being excluded from the contest.
Only levels for Far Cry 2 are being accepted.
One unique judging for Multiplayer Map creation will happen.
Any submitted level needs to be the own creation of each participant.
Assets for the levels creation can be taken from the Far Cry 2 MAP editor provided with the full game.
No copyright infringements are allowed.
The competition will run from 16/03/2009 until 25/05/2009.
Multiplayer levels will have to work in LAN and online modes.
Staff Members of Intel, Ubisoft, InFarCry community, ESL teams and any other third parties associated with the jury, are not allowed to participate.
Any text used as part of the map creations needs to be in English language.
Levels Submission Specific Rules
Each map submission should be done to the Intel® Far Cry® 2 Mapping Contest website that would be available at the following address:

Level submission needs to include a complete levels folder either in a .zip or .rar file.
Name of the archive: “Intel_Entrant Name”
Participants will have to add a submission form in the archives they submit, which can be downloaded from http://infarcry.com/mapping-competition. All personal information and data will only be used in this contest.
Submitted archive needs to include a “Readme” file stating credits and/or the agreement when using copyright protected materials.
Database entries for all levels need to have background description (story or mission of the level), in English language only.
Video and Screenshot Submission:
Each participant must deliver a 2 minutes long video and 4 screenshots of his/her map, included in his final folder submission.
Each level entry needs to have at least 4 in-game screenshots (max size per file: 1600*1200 pixels)
Screenshots should provide a good insight view of the level.
Not sending in screenshots results in a removal from the contest.
7. For the purposes of the website http://infarcry.com/mapping-competition, Intel Corporation SAS and Ubisoft assume no responsibility for any difficulty arising out of the use by entrants of their computer, Internet access or phone line, or any other technical issue.
For the purposes of the website http://infarcry.com/mapping-competition, Intel Corporation SAS and Ubisoft are not responsible for maps that have not been received due to data loss or theft, interrupted connections, use of a wrong or incomplete address, or incomplete registration.
8. The Competition will begin on 16th March 2009 11:00 a.m. GMT, which is the start for the creation of levels or maps in Multiplayer or Single player category.
All levels or maps as created by entrants in Multiplayer or Single player category shall be uploaded to the dedicated section of the website http://infarcry.com/mapping-competition by 26th April 2009 05:00 p.m. GMT.

Four Contest Criteria
There is only one global voting system for both jury and community.
It is based on the FOUR criteria.
-Originality on Map & Mission & Voice acting (Do not use existing assets, create new or unique map, mission and voice acting)
-Creativity in integrating Intel Logo
Intel® Core™ i7 logo ‘Clever & Smart’ visibility, which means a strategic intelligence in the use of the Intel Item such as the “Ci7 Desktop” to be placed into the maps and where such place on the map allows the inclusion.
-Intel® performance* (VTune™ test in Intel® lab)
-Fun, game play
Each criteria has max 5 points, where 5 = best and 1 = worst.
So the max voting score for one map = 20 points.
10. The Prizes to Be Committed (Prizes are non-transferable and may not be substituted for cash)
First Selection: Top 12 Multiplayer Maps Winners
12 x Ubisoft new title in 2009 (HAWX) --- Estimated value: 50 USD
Final Selection: Top 3 Multiplayer Maps Winners Awarded by Ubisoft and Intel Members.
1st 1 LIMITED FAR CRY 2 PC Desktop based on Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme configuration --- Estimated value: 2500 USD
2nd 1 FAR CRY 2 Extreme Collector Edition Box (including Intel® Core™ Ci7 920 processor + FC2 Ltd Goodies) ---Estimated value: 1000 USD
3rd 1 FAR CRY 2 Extreme Collector Edition Box (including Intel® Core™ Ci7 920 processor + FC2 Ltd Goodies) ---Estimated value: 1000 USD
11. Entrants give prior authorization to the organizers to publish or broadcast their names without any indemnity or compensation whatsoever. Winners will be given notice by email on the nature of their prize and delivery details.
The winners of the Competition will be notified within 72 hours following completion of each category (Multiplayer or Single player).
Prize shipping and delivery will occur within 28 days after winners are announced.
12. Participation to the Competition implies acceptance by the entrants of the Terms and Conditions thereof without restriction or reservation.
Intel Corporation SAS and all the organizers reserve the right to suspend, extend, amend or terminate the Competition if called for by circumstances. They shall not be held responsible as a result.
Intel Corporation SAS and all the organizers shall not be held responsible for technical problems arising on reception of levels or maps from Far Cry 2 or their destruction, in whole or in part, or any act of God.
Any level or map found to be duplicate or fraudulent by the organizers or the jury will result in the entrants involved being excluded from the Competition.
13. Any difficulty arising from the performance or the interpretation of the Terms and Conditions of the Competition, or that would not be provided for by these Terms and Conditions, shall be decided by the organizers, and the organizers’ decision will be final. No claim related to the Competition shall be taken into account after one month from 16th March 2009 11:00 a.m. GMT.
14. Any and all prizes offered in this contest are exclusive of any other promotion from the organizers or the sponsors involved in the event.
15. Each entrant is entitled to access, rectify, modify or delete any personal data that he or she has provided. Any personal information will be held in accordance with Intel’s Privacy Policy (link to the policy: http://www3.intel.com/cd/corporate/europe/emea/eng/172055.htm) and the information is held accordingly. Each entrant can exercise this right by sending an e-mail to yinqiu.wu@intel.com, or a letter to Intel Corporation SAS – Les Montalets – 2 rue de Paris – 92196 Meudon Cedex – France.

Postage expenses will be repaid at the minimum French postage rate (EUR 0.50) on simple request made in the letter requesting a copy of the Terms and Conditions.
