1. Shock Rifle (Unreal Tournament series)
This is by far my favourite gun in any game, and it takes skill like no other to use it to its full potential. The secondary-primary shock combo is what makes this gun special, delivering an explosive wave that can wipe out an unarmoured target in one blast.

2. AWP (Counter-Strike series)
The main sniper gun in Counter-Strike can wipe out any target in just one hit. When used by the best players it can turn a game around. It might be expensive but it’s one of the best guns in the game and has the ability to shoot through walls, doors and even floors!
3. Flak cannon (Unreal Tournament series)
The flak cannon is your worst nightmare, I'm sure many of you spent endless nights playing Death Match or Last Man Standing in the first UT game, dreading the flak cannon spam of doom. Its main strength was its ability to spam flak shells into targets, bouncing them off walls and basically just creating a messy situation. The secondary fire was useful too, with grenade-like explosions that would reduce the target’s health significantly.

4. MP44 (Call of Duty 1 and 2)
The MP44 is a Call of Duty player’s favourite weapon. It might not be as powerful as some of the other guns but it is deadly accurate and can penetrate multiple targets in quick succession, making it one of the most used guns in the series. Its iron sight is very useful and helps you control the spread when firing it as a machine gun. It is the gun that brings balance to the game, and everyone loves it.
5. Rocket launcher (Unreal Tournament and Quake Series)
The rocket launcher is one of the most common weapons in professional duel games these days. That’s because it’s not only one of the coolest weapons, but it also sits between hit-scan weapons and spam weapons. It is used in many ways – defensive, aggressive or even as predictive spam. One thing’s for sure: it’s very popular and I can see it being used in many more future titles.

There you have my top five guns of all time. They’re a mix of old and futuristic guns, but in the long run they all do the same thing: kill the enemy!
